Hitting a wall

Well the wall is suppose to be completed today. However, and unfortunately as expected, there is a slight snag.  The caps for the columns are special order. So now we have to figure out what to do about capping the columns.  The supplier would be more than happy to supply custom cut caps starting at $500!   We also have an unused pallet of stone left over because the supplier estimated to much.  We will have to get on bent knee in order to return them.  Even after grovelling, we may be stuck with a whole lot a stone!   So, what to do with the left over stone and what to do with the uncapped columns.

The wall looks a bit dark but we knew we could not match the natural stone of the house.  The stampcrete is perfect.

Ted is having to go fight a ticket tonight in Frankfort.  He’s really thrilled about it as you can imagine.  Ted’s version is that it was a set up. There was a “undercover” car in front of him that cruised through the stop sign. So when he followed suit, not completely stopping, the cop snagged him. The other car actually stopped in front of Ted when the cop put the lights on, but then pulled away after …completely ticket free! I just hope the “court” appearance doesn’t bring out the dark side of Ted. I don’t have enough money to bail him out tonight!11312

For dinner, I sauted tempeh. I simply cut it into cubes, marinated it in a mixture of BQ sauce + soy sauce + honey mustard. Sauted w/ broccoli for about 5 min. per side.  It was good. A little sweet but good. Satisfied any dessert cravings due to the sweetness anyway.

Speaking of sweet… I picked up a NO WHEAT cookie today. Thought I might try that on my cheat day Friday or this weekend. It is high in calories (180 for 1/2 the cookie) but it doesn’t have any wheat, eggs, or refined sugar. It’s made with 2 different wheat free flours, sweetened with fruit juice, has rice dextrin (this is some kind of starch like arrowroot or tapioca (I think?)), canola oil, chocolate chips, bake.pwdr, bake.soda, salt & natural flavors.

I got a great FREE cookie in the mail the other day and that was really good by Kashi:

So that’s a wrap for the day. I’m going to wash my hair then take Shane for a short walk in the rain. Ted will most likely come home with a tale about the goings on in a “seedy” court room.

Feel Like a Brainiac

I did it! I completed the crossword puzzle this morning!  On the rare occasion that I can do this, it leaves me feeling a bit guilty because Ted didn’t get to participate.  This morning he’s stuck with the Suduko puzzle. He should be happy.

Pretty good workout: 36 min. on the elliptical, 35 min. leg training with abs at the end and a short standing yoga routine. Shane and I went on a slow 34 min. jog…. he was dragging most likely because he didn’t eat his dinner last night.  He got left overs (HIS leftovers) this morning.

My breakfast was typical. Filling but my mouth wanted something else. Stomach said no so this is what I had:  1 VPX shake (pre-workout at 4AM). 1 VPX shake w/ 2 oz blueberries +2 strawberries at breakfast. 1/3 cup (dry) cream of rye w/ apple pie spice + 1 tsp natural p-nut butter + 4 strawberries.

This mornings snack is an apple with 1 TBS BetternButter + 1 TBS Naturally More P-Nut butter.

Busy day today wrapping up last quarters reports for the accountant. Follow ups from last months inquiries/customers and workorders for new orders. Of course there are the unexpected to deal with which is more exciting (and most times more fun) than the routine daily work.   Happy Tuesday!
