Do I look happy?.. how about COLD!???

Can you believe that salad..that little handful of lettuce cost $10.50?!!! Not good!
Pasta with Seafood and Shellfish in a Diavolo sauce

See the Pelican? The Keys are a real Pelican Hang out.
Getting ready for our sunset cruise on the historical Western Union Sail Boat. Largest sail boat in the harbour.

The Jolly Roger (Pirate Cruise) shot at us

It started raining on our sunset cruise with the Western Union. We were fighting a storm the entire 2 hour cruise. We did get to taste Conch chowder.. not bad – not the best.
A Red Zinfandel and a Heiny to begin – comp. of Western Union

Steamed Clam app. done in a terrific tomatoe broth with greens
Garden salad – 3 X the size with more vegetables than that $10 plate of lettuce earlier today.

Pan seared Red Snapper with a Mango glaze and double order of chef choice vegetables
Raining buckets. So we were stuck in the Conch Seafood Co. Restaurant – oh it was too cruel 🙂 We had a great time!

Recap of our 2nd day in Key West, FL.

The crowing rooster was never quieted. We are hoping that we get a full nights sleep tonight.

It was cold today. When the sun came out – perfect, but most of the day was overcast and windy.

We left the B&B after a continental breakfast at about 9:15 am.  We walked up Duval St. and around the historic boardwalk then back down to the Southern Most point.  We stopped for lunch at Louis Backyard which was an expensive disappointment.  After lunch, we walked back to the B&B to spend time in a 100 deg. F whirl pool. It was nice to get warm for 1/2 hour.

At 3pm, I found Pier House Resort…Caribbean Spa, where I scheduled a 50 min. deep tissure massage.  GLORIOUS!

The therapist started early and stopped late, so it was a great massage but left me scurrying around to get ready for our sunset cruise aboard the historical schooner, Western Union.   Ted  met me at the spa and we just made it to set sail by 5PM.

The Capt. was concerned because storms were in the area.  We went out but stayed close to the harbour.  We saw the BEST dolphin show. The dolphins were all around the boat, leaping, playing, and thoroughly entertaining crew and passengers.  In the meantime, a couple got engaged on our excursion. How romantic!

We docked at about 6:45 pm and had a comp. drink at the Schooner Wharf bar.  Then moved on to The Conch Seafood Company for dinner.   What a great day in spite of the cold.  I was SO trying to be warm. I had refused to put on a sweater / sweat shirt.  Hopefully tomorrow will bring more sun and warmer temps.

That’s all I have for you tonight. Ted is already asleep, but he’s determined that we get up to go watch the sun rise.  I’ll be sure to let you know how that goes.  Take care. Jo signing off.

We are eating like there is no tomorrow. But it’s still not real warm here.
