In yesterday’s post I said we received our fruit order from Harry and David. They are plums. Well, no. They are not plums. The fruit is in fact PLUM-APRICOTS. Not sure about you, but that’s a new fruit on my list. Here is a little about that illusive “plum-apricot” as written in the H&D pamphlet:
“..innovative cross between the plum and the apricot is the kind of delightful new taste experience you may often dream of, but seldom actually find”.
Ted and I both had one this morning and it was a delightful experience but for me, more plum-like so I didn’t really notice a huge taste/texture difference.
“…tender skin is milder – less tart and stringent – than a plum’s, with the light, crisp bite of a fine cabernet sauvignon.”
Cabernet sauvignon? Did someone say wine? It’s Friday.. bring it on!
“The juicy, vivid orange flesh inside has a nice velvety sweetness, with a higher sugar content than either a plum or an apricot. Together, the flavor is rich, complex and perfectly balanced.”

Here is a recipe offered by Harry and David for a Plum-Apricot Spinach Salad. If you can’t find this luscious fruit in the store, use simply Plums or simply Apricots. Whatever your favorite.

As for Shane and his sore foot, it was better by bedtime last night. He must have been stung or bitten by something. Miraculous recovery. Brave dog!
He woke me up at 5 AM this morning. Friday is my morning to sleep in just a little – at least until 5:15AM. When Ted gets up before me, Shane seems not to like it and won’t let me sleep. He whines and nudges me. He’ll let Ted sleep so What’s Up With THAT?!!!
Since we were out and about so early, we went for a walk with a sprint here and there around the golf course. A total of 5 miles was accomplished this morning.
Here is the DVD we watched last night: Obsessed
It was ok. It was a Fatal Attraction remake, basically. The crazy chick finally took it too far in the end, as usual. If your hard pressed for what to pick up by way of a DVD, go for it.
It’s off to Charlotte’s tonight in Vernon. Details tomorrow if there was anything new on the menu.
