It was a GREAT day to wake up today!  Why? Who knows… just happened. The alarm went off – complete surprise. Meaning, I didn’t anticipate it by laying there half awake. I turned it off with no thoughts of delay, I was out of bed, in the bathroom, brushing, putting on clothes, and downstairs to grab water and a shake. Wow, did I feel good.

I was working legs today. To get a little bit of work done for my upper body, I did the elliptical for 20 minutes and the rowing machine for 15 minutes.

Leg workout, 30 minutes:

  • 4 x 12 squats + 4 x 20 leg presses
  • 4 x 15-15-12-15 leg curls + 4 x 20 seated calf raises
  • 4 x 15 leg extensions + 4 x 20 ball crunches.

Shane and I went on a 3 1/4 mile jog. It was a nice morning, not too cold and the roads were clear.

Was it something I ate? Was it something that happened? Was it the water I drank?  Who knows?!  I just feel good today. 🙂

Breakfast:

  • VPX protein with 1/2 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1/4 cup Bob’s Red Mill Steel Cut Oats with 1 tsp raisins and cinnamon.
  • 1/2 cup fresh blueberries with 2 strawberries.

I actually doubled the oats this morning and split them with Ted. He had the oats yesterday and said that he much preferred the steel cut over the thick and rough Silver Palate.    If you check out yesterdays oats, you can see the texture difference, the thick and rough are not as “nutty” and chewy as steel cut.

Today is a busy day (again) at work.  We are feeling the economic slump somewhat and our customers are paying net 45 -60 days instead of net 30 but  at least they’re paying. I really dislike chasing money!

Up early and ready to go.  Hopped on the tread mill for 35 minutes and stomped out 4 miles.  Did a little over 30 minutes of legs and finished with a 2 3/4 mile jog with Shane. 

Today’s Leg Workout:

  • 1 set walking lunges
  • 8 sets x 12 reps of Bar Squats with 4 sets x 12 leg extensions then 4 x 12 leg curls
  • 8 sets x 12 reps of Ball-Wall Squats with 4 x 20 seated calf raises and 4 x 20 ball crunches.
  • 1 set of walking lunges.

The workout was fueled by 1 scoop Jay Robb Chocolate.

Breakfast was 1 scoop Jay Robb Chocolate

1 Braeburn Apple

1/3 cup Silver Palate Thick and Rough Oats with 1/2 of the Quaker Toasted Coconut Banana Macadamia Nut Granola Bar.

The oats were perfect with that little bit of Quaker bar added in. It wasn’t too sweet and added a little ….different texture to the oats.  Ted had the Honey Roasted Cashew Mixed Berry bar last night and said it was really good.

The nutrition facts on the bar (you can get them at the site reference above) are:

140 cals. 5 g Total Fat. 23 g Carbs. 3g Fiber and 2g Protein.

I’m checking email at home in anticipation of additional computer problems today.  I don’t mean to be negative, but based on experience… logic indicates I should expect the worst.
