The Routine

It’s Monday and back to the weekday routine.

Ted arrived home safely and full of weekend tales of “Men on Golf Outing Without Women”.  Based on most of the details, women wouldn’t have wanted to be present.  There was an unfortunate 12 year old boy that was the only other member attending the golf school over the weekend.  He was either entertained by the older 4-some or went home to tell his parents never to do that to him again.  Poor kid.Golf ball:10574

As  I said, it’s back to the routine which began at 4AM. It was a touch-and-go situation because in the bathroom, I started the water running to brush my teeth and prepare for the workout ahead.  I looked in the mirror, turned the water off.  Stared at myself some more. Turned the water back on.  Thought “I didn’t get to bed too early last night, maybe I’ll just go back to bed now“.  Turned the water off.  Looked at my clothes…”but I’m so awake“.  Turned the water on.  Turned the water off …”we’re having left overs tonight so I’ll have more time to workout after work….no…just get it over with“….. and FINALLY the water went back on and brushing and washing commenced.

It was chest day:  4 sets x 12 reps. Presses with long bar. Presses with dumbells.  Pec cross overs. Chest Flies.  It was also bicep day:  4 sets x 12 reps. Cable curls. Hammer curls. Rope bicep curls. Concentration curls.

The warm up was 20 minutes of ET and 15 minutes of rowing. Shane and I went for a 3 mile run.

Breakfast:  A VPX vanilla shake with 1/4 banana and Fuze.  Oats were Bob’s Red Mill 5 Grain with 3 dried plums and apple spice.

You must be back to your usual Monday routine as well.  Unless of course you are going on vacation in which event…Lucky You!  Have a good one whatever you’re doing.

Wow! Papaya

dscn0825What can be said? Fresh, fruity, juicy, bursting with flavor… this is one super fruit.  Have you tried fresh papaya?  What kind of recipes have you made with it?

dscn0826The papaya really made the rest of this mornings eats play second string… a bowl of Cream of Rye mixed with a little 10 Grain cereal, 1/4 of a banana, cinnamon and Papaya on the side.

But….WOW! the papaya.

To get moving this morning, it was 20 minutes between the Elliptical and the Treadmill. 30 minutes of shoulders and abs. A 4.15 mile run/walk with Shane.

Ted’s off on a golfing excursion with his buds today.  Hope the weather works out well for them over the weekend.  It has been a trip well planned and long awaited.

Enjoy your Friday and make sure to check back later for a First Communion Cake.
